The Glass Box, Somerset libraries innovation and enterprise space
The Glass Box was set-up three years ago and has evolved to become a digital space for business, education and the community. With the ever-expanding digital evolution and development of new technology the Glass Box has helped Somerset libraries to integrate this into the modern library service. I will talk about: our business offers, what you can do in the Glass Box and what’s next in the world of digital for Somerset libraries…
As Digital Development Office for Somerset libraries I research, plan and deliver new technologies to Somerset libraries. Having trained in technical theatre and worked at the Bristol Old Vic for many years, I then moved in to the education sector to teach the new coding curriculum, this has given me the skills I now uses to make Somerset libraries ready for their digital future. From Virtual Reality (VR) to Code Clubs, 3D printing to Raspberry Pi’s my role covers it all, as well as creating business training opportunities and networking events.
I have been self-employed for most of my working life. I started my first business aged 13 and have started and developed 9 separate businesses since then. I am currently a Professional speaker, trainer, business consultant and LinkedIn geek. The Audacious Training Company is an internationally recognised change management, social selling, leadership and management training company with clients in the UK, the USA, Malaysia, Oman, the UAE, Canada and South African. We run open and in-house training courses and have just launched our latest LinkedIn Mastery course online.
For this evening seminar, ‘LinkedIn is Dead. Long Live LinkedIn’ is a shortened version of a keynote talk I do with the same name. In this talk, I will show why LinkedIn is alive and well. I will share with you why LinkedIn is currently the number 1 most powerful marketing and networking tool available to the business community regardless of what business or industry. And I will give you the 3 powerful takeaways which will immediately transform the way in which you use LinkedIn and the results you are getting.

learning to be fully present in the here and now.
Understanding how our mind works regarding thoughts, emotions and habits enables us to have the choice to respond rather than to react to the present moment, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant.
Often, we are so busy living in the past or worrying about the future that we actually miss living in the here and now.
With a working life experience in Sales, Training and Fundraising Teresa is very aware of the challenges presented in a work environment of being focused, creative, being part of team, having good communication and listening skills, meeting deadlines, targets.
Mindfulness can help having a positive effect on our wellbeing cascading through home and work life, with numerous scientific research and clinical studies to endorse this.
Benefits in the workplace:
Less absenteeism and turnover due to stress and anxiety
Developing a happier, confident and supportive culture, awareness of self and others
Improved self-esteem, concentration, productivity, resilience, communication and listening skills
Lateral thinking, creative solutions, perform well in deadline situations when under pressure
This evening Teresa will deliver an Introduction Session of Mindfulness and Compassion, with advice to take away and put into practice, caring for your mind, body and spirit. She has personally been practicing Mindfulness and Compassion for 7 years after being diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, it helps with the pain and the anxiety of living with, Idiopathic Anaphylaxis.
